Currently, you can get SLC base in training. Reserve for a while. I started class April 2019 and could have been a lineholder starting in January (if I was on ERJ). PDX lineholder a little sooner, I think about 4 months after training. BOI looked similar to PDX. Could finally hold a line in LGA, right on the edge for SEA. MSP for now, but it's so new that they really don't have any reserves yet. I'd be on Reserve still in LAX and DEN, and surprisingly ORD. And would still be at least a few months from getting into SAN (and then reserve for a long time). It seems that the days of getting ORD and being stuck there for a long time are gone, you can get to the west coast pretty quickly on either aircraft.

Most likely can get transferred in within a month or two after IOE. Expect to be on reserve for a long time though, as DFW is tied with ATL as one of the most-staffed bases, based on the number of lineholders and reserves (most recent shows 76 lines and 26 reserves in DTW and ATL). That equates to about 25% of FOs being on reserve (with more of an average around 12-15% in most bases, and then one really low around 5%). To actually hold a line, it'll be a while. Always some variability, but I could have held a line there around 9 months (about 6 months after checkride).

For example, it shows junior PHX is 8/23/19, but I have friends who were hired prior to that date waiting to get in. So unless that updates before the awards officially came out, I'd treat it with cautious optimism.

“pBs DoEsNt ReSpEcT sEnIoRiTy!”

You guys are a broken record. Is it a perfect software? Heck no but it does what it needs to AS LONG AS you understand what you are giving it to solve the puzzle. Please cut the BS. For every post that says this crap there’s a much more PBS educated pilot that can look at your bid and see exactly where you went wrong. Get on the PBS help Facebook group if you are struggling. There’s some very knowledgeable people on there that can immediately pinpoint why you didn’t get what you wanted if you show them your bid. I see so many employees complaining and when I look at their bid they don’t even realize what is being put in for the software to solve.

The new vacation system is a whole nother story. We can complain about that all day long.

In laymen’s terms, as long as you bid enough crappy pairings to get you up to 89+ hours you’ll get what you bid for. Then you can say PBS works.

Sounds like you have an issue with the way trips are built these days, in which case I agree with you. That's a different system than PBS dude.

Huh? It does what it needs as long as I understand?

its not a perfect software in two ways and that is a problem. 1. Seniority 2. Sometimes doesn’t work as advertised. Problems worthy of gripes.
Do you think any of us care about someone who can’t read the PBS manual for themselves?
The system is designed to globalize. If you can’t understand that then you shouldn’t be giving PBS advise. Or go to work with the PBS helpline, you sound like you’ll be great at making people feel terrible about themselves.

Globalization trumps straight seniority.

byt that is not a problem of the system but how it is configured and what guardrails are out in by the company.

And - news flash - this is norm different at mainline. They also globalize. It is called g line or something else but the net effect is the same. The only difference at mainline is that staffing is better. So it is usually not as tight and there is less pain inflicted.

But it is the same shxxshow in December there as it is at SKYW every month.

Has anyone seen my LGA base? I left it in the aircraft 123SY last Sunday. Who would take such a thing? I have a railroad spike you know.

Seriously though, lots of transfers out of LGA and no awards if I'm reading the awards right.
