you need to talk to travel center department and they will help you out, they are so helpful… it seems you have not paid the activation fee.

Think it about it this way, SkyWest gets penalized if they don’t operate a certain percentage of flights. So what’s the solution? If you hire more than X amount of pilots resulting in attrition that doesn’t allow us to operate those X amount of flights we don’t get penalized. It’s actually a fair deal from two management’s perspectives, but who’s getting shafted in that deal??
SkyWest management is doing exactly what Republic’s management is doing. OO is just doing it better and smarter, under a disguise. That’s always how they’ve operated and why they’ve been able to take over so much regional market share.
You’re delaying your career progression severely by staying at SkyWest IMO. They’ve never advocated for the pilots best interests, ever. But that’s always been fine if it doesn’t delay your ability to move on! Now they’re actually hurting your career the same way busting a 121 check ride would delay your career progression.
If you’re an FO on property at OO you should be doing everything you can to leave for a ULCC/LCC as fast as possible before the ULCC’s start requiring pilots to sign agreements similar to Republic’s.

But at this moment, if your goal is the big 3. This is not the place to stick around and upgrade. It’s just that simple.

The best way is to look at the Standing Bid List and filter it to the base you want and also filter it to only show “Transfers”. Then count the number of people senior to you on that filtered standing bid list and you’ll get an idea of where you’re at in line. Then when the DVR comes out, you’ll have an idea of how many are going to get awarded the base and how far up the waiting list you will move.

CRJ Questions
Hey Everyone,
I’m thinking about choosing the CRJ and had some questions.
Which base has the most flying in terms of hours and not just legs?
Which bases should I avoid?
How are PHX, SLC, DEN, DFW for bases on the CRJ?
Any tips for the CRJ?
Thanks in advance !

DEN and DFW both have a pretty good amount of flying on the CRJ. SLC has mostly gone ERJ, and PHX is historically pretty senior and probably only has about half the CRJ flying of DEN or DFW.

IAH will be the biggest crj base.

Not even close. IAH has consistently lost CRJ flying almost every month for the past 10 months. It’s a shell of what the base looked like a year ago (again, on the CRJ side).
It wouldn’t surprise me if they wind up as a purely ERJ base in the future.
