I doubt the whole line is getting pushed, that would be too much admin work for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they just cancelled the February classes to push a group of captains through and left the next classes as planned going forward, or maybe they push back the lower seniority (or non-cadets) back to allow those who missed February to fill in. But who knows, maybe we'll find out soon. My recruiter confirmed my CTP date on 3/17 after they sent out that email.

I meet the preferred requirements for getting hired at Alaska, save the ATP written. With this indefinite delay, i’m wondering if I should just pay for the CTP myself, take the written, and apply at Alaska. This is nuts.

Mesa losing AA. Republic canceling classes indefinitely. SkyWest doing the same (obviously further classes are cancelled if February is). The sudden, unexpected ups and downs of this industry are historic and to be expected your entire career. If you’re in it for the long haul- you’ll be ok. Someday you’ll have a class.

This seems like reaching too deep when the real root problem has been stated many times: we don’t have enough captains. We aren’t parking planes to shrink to profitability. We’re parking planes because we have a 20% smaller pilot group in one year’s span. SLC has a day this month with 73 reserve FOs on call because they don’t have captains to staff flying.

Look at the investor guidance just released by Delta and comments by United, they aren’t worried about demand dropping with the economy, they’re worried about the supply side.

Anyone going recently through ERJ INDOC has an idea if training is happening right after or how many weeks are they expecting to be waiting to start ground school?

Expect a 5-8 week break between indoc and ground. They are frontloading the long breaks before systems to prevent any long breaks while you're in SIM's. In February they are going back to holding a new systems ground class every Monday (right now its bi-weekly), so footprints should start to accelerate again around then. There's currently about 200 people that have finished indoc and are awaiting a systems ground school class, so they'll have to push those through before you get into systems.

ATP through indoc is ~17 days still?

I have a April class date....assuming it happens, I am thinking of taking vacation at work to cover that period and not put in my notice until I get called back for ground.
