Can someone explain for a newbie how dropping a trip would work in theory? I.e conditions must be satisfied in order to be able to drop a trip? Do you/can you automatically get assigned another trip? (And in airlines which allow it, how does swapping generally work?)

Adequate reserve staffing and within 117 regs, I think it’s 30 hours of rest In-between blocks.

Which plane you starting class on? ERJ or CRJ. Congratulations and good luck in training.

I am thinking of using international flight benefits to make my way to the West coast around 12/15 for a 12/30 class start in DTW. I’m wondering specifically about what kind of travel benefit tickets are available on United or Delta.

I’m currently in southern Italy, not close to any of the airports where I could easily board a standby flight and obviously I’m going to be super junior flying close to the Xmas season so I’m thinking of just purchasing a regular ticket, but before doing that I wanted to explore the travel benefit options which offer positive spacing.

I’ll have full access to SKW online by next week but as ticket prices are beginning to rise I need to make a decision soon: but a ticket or wait a week and then see what kind of positive space options there are in the travel section of SKW online.

Does anyone know what kind of discounts are available for positive space tickets on UA or DL?

There are none available with Delta, but on United, you can purchase a discounted confirmed seat through United eRes. This will be your best option if you're looking to save some money.

If you can get a seat for around 500$ you should buy it and enjoy your last days in Italy without worry.

Commuting for SkyWest from Italy is a worse idea than communism.

Lol! No commuting for me, I’m moving to base, wherever that is!

Default SkyWest hiring timeline ?

Is there anyone here that is part of the hiring team or have info about them?

I've been waiting a few weeks for a hiring decision from Skywest. I interviewed on Oct 25th for an FO position. I am eligible for an unrestricted ATP and had positive comments from the captain that interviewed me.
He said I should have an answer within a couple weeks from the company. This was echoed shortly later by my recruiter. It's coming up on a month now and no response (good or bad) and I have not been able to get in touch with the recruiter. Has anyone else had issues like this for so long on just getting answer?
I get they are busy and swamped with hiring but this just seems a bit much when I cannot even find anyone to give me an answer.

I have a class start date in March with Endeavor. SkyWest was my first choice but it is looking like Endeavor may be the better option.
