You'll be fine. Lots of options. Gold day, swapping reserve days, or just call out. If you know that's a possibility than you can do your best to not call out for other stuff and keep your number of callouts lower. One of the great things about the airlines. If you have something more important to do than work, you just call EMER and say I'm not coming in. No questions asked as long as you rarely do it.

I feel pretty confident that the general public will not want to board an autonomous airplane. Whether I was a pilot or not I wouldn’t personally, being that I am a pilot and that would displace people out of a job, I wouldn’t just on principle.

Anyone know if our insurance benefits can be used for a domestic partnership? The fiancée to be is about to leave her job so we can move in base but would lose insurance and figured I’d throw them on mine until they have their own again

I don't often agree with Domino but this would not shock me. Maybe not 20, but 30 or so absolutely. Kids these days are growing up in the era of self driving cars, an airplane that flys without pilots wont be shocking or scary to them so I would expect it to become common place in the somewhat near future.
Most of us already flying now will see our careers out safely but I wouldn't be encouraging my young kids to become pilots by the time they reach end of school.

My dentist’s son wants to be a pilot. I have told her I think I will see fully automated exams and cavity filling before I see fully automated planes.
