The CRJ is also the way to go if you you want a 10 week wait for IOE with potential consolidation problems. Flying skills are great, but If you want to fly now, take the erj.

FWIW, ERJ classes are farther out than CRJ classes right now. Also, the ERJ isn't immune to the hemorrhaging of LCAs -- it is affecting the entire company across both fleets. My advice would be to pick the airplane that gets you in the door sooner; by the time you're finished with training, it's impossible to say which type will have the longer wait for IOE.

This, the pay is the same for F/O's.

That was true a couple years ago, but nowadays it depends on the base. LAX, San Francisco, Salt Lake, and even Denver to an extent have equivalently good or better schedule on the ERJ seniority being equal.

I know things are very fluid and ever changing. However, with Denver being a large base for OO, how long do you think it would take to hold DEN or COS? I have a mid May class date and I’m trying to avoid commuting like the plague.

There are new hires that haven’t hit the line yet being able to grab Denver while waiting for IOE.

Default CRJ type by base

Would appreciate it if someone could tell me what bases fly each type of CRJ.

Thank you!

Anyone coming should take the first class unless the base they want isn't available on that aircraft. Upgrade about when you are eligible (plus/minus some specific considerations), probably on the CRJ, and move on. Plenty of CAs barely off Upgrade IOE getting hired away by ULCCs (F9/NK/AS) and majors gobbling up the LCA ranks, and FOs as well . Movement is good in the big bases, plenty of premium open time right now (150% for FOs usually, 2/300% for CAs) if you want to grind.

R0GER BALL Weren't you a Tailhook type but you need to upgrade here? Feel free to PM, I'm also a Navy guy, leaving in the next few months.
