Negligible. Those are two junior bases with new hire classes running all the time. Relative to years past our time to a line isn’t really a factor. Upgrade though could be vastly different. There is some ERJ QOL buyer remorse out there.

What is the COS base like? I know about seniority and all that, just curious about the flying. Curious as to what airline/hub most of the flying there goes through.

COS as a maintenance base, like many of the others, have their trips start very early and end very late. Basically a commuter's worst dream. Well, really the worst for everyone. The maintenance happens at night and the planes get taken in late at night and go out early.

Some like it, most don't?

Default Equipment Lock???

If someone were to become a new hire FO on the ERJ is there any sort of policy prohibiting moving to the CRJ either as captain or FO? I know seniority dictates that stuff but wasnt sure if there was company policy to keep an FO on the same equipment for a certain amount of time after training if they wanted to switch aircraft.

What are the most junior bases for FOs to hold a line on the Embraer? When was the most junior line holder on the Embraer hired?

Thank you for your help.

The MX base schedule works well if you drive to work and there's a lot of road traffic. Instead of sitting on the freeway before and after the trip, you sit in a hotel on per diem in the middle of the trip. Maybe work out or something. Better use of the time.

But not really good for commuters.

I believe there is a two year seat lock to transition FO to FO on either aircraft. No restriction on upgrade though to either aircraft. You can go to any aircraft for upgrade as soon as you have the seniority and required minimums.

As far as junior line holders, I'm not sure. I don't pay much attention to it. Sorry.

COS is mostly United CRJ200. They do have some CRJ700 flying as well. I'd take a guess that the 700 flying is only 10% of the flying. The majority of trips are three days that start around 6am on day one and finish around 8-10pm on day three with credit around 16-18 hours. That means you'll probably do five of them a month in order to get around the 88 minimum hours of credit the company wants everyone to have. The do have 1, 2, and 4 day trips as well. Making a wild as guess those comprise 30% of the flying.

On the 200 you'll see a lot of Denver. The 700 goes farther. There is a small amount of Delta 200 flying that goes to SLC hub.

I believe one of the big benefits to COS is being able to park your car in the parking lot and walk to your airplane in 5-10 minutes. At other places car to the aircraft can take up to an hour. Even in SLC I have to plan to be in the parking lot nearly a half hour before showtime. LAX can be a headache with the bus service to the United terminals. And Denver airport is in the boonies.

True for all MX bases, at least one hour time savings per trip. "Report Time" was when you needed to be setting the parking brake on your car.

Unless they need people in the left seat. They are hurting for experienced folks ....

You may get lucky but don’t count on it.
