ERJ March 1 here as well! I also have not heard anything since I received the tentative class date email several months ago. Any luck with your recruiter yet?

Approximately mid-May, maybe a touch later. Moving up when a spot becomes open is a very real possibility if you’ve already met ATP mins.

Just curious, what was your time frame from time you submitted application until your interview? I heard the timing from application until contact is delayed lately.

Yes I ended up getting ahold of my recruiter and have started the onboarding process. Apparently my emails went to spam so I had to call to get in touch.

Train fresh here for your interview.
1. A rectifier converts AC to DC. (What is a rectifier?)
2.The controller forgets to turn on the runway lights you go missed and hold. Think about fuel from this point on. You lose communication with the tower. What do you do as they just told you they have now turned the lights back on but lost comm with them?
3. Know how to read a TAF... Do you need to file an alternate if our ETA is at 1430z...?
4. Captain don't want to put her seat belt on as you start descending. What do you do? She decides to put it on but at 1,000 feet she takes the seat belt off again. Sterile cockpit question ya think?
5. Mack tuck is when the drag of shock wave causes the center of pressure to move aft and nose to drop. This causes airspeed to increase even more now that gravity is pulling nose down. (What is mack tuck?)
6. Brief a Jepp approach. Simple ILS with vectors.
7. Advantage of a swept wing is less drag. Disadvantage is more airspeed is needed for lift. There are leading edge slats to correct the disadvantage and create more lift at a lower airspeed.
8. Vso is stall speed in landing config. A stall can happen at any airspeed don't forget. V1 is airspeed when you are committed to the takeoff. (what is Vso? What airspeed does an airplane stall? What is V1)
9. Suck squeeze bang spit. (Explain the principles of a turbine engine)
10. Don't turn the fuel on too soon when starting a turbine...IDK, forgot what this is called already sorry. Watch N1 to a certain percentage add fuel. (What can go wrong when starting a turbine engine?)
11. What else do you like to do besides fly?
12. Tell me your favorite joke.
You won't need any luck if you know exactly what psychological curve balls are coming. How you think?

Anyone scheduled for the ERJ March 1 class date? I've been trying to contact my recruiter with no luck and haven't received any information. The email I initially got said 90 days out I'd receive info so just curious as to why I haven't.
Also does anyone have any tips on what to study to prepare for training? I found a bunch of E170 training videos on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQvV...SBCwtJKEtpaQ3Y) but am hesitant to memorize info due to it possibly being incorrect. Other than that I've just been reviewing IFR stuff.

Seems more like system videos than procedure videos. 170 is a 170?l, right? Am I missing something?

I totally understand not studying things that can and will change, but there’s a large and mostly un-utilized gap in the way things are currently working for new hires. We get a class date and then it’s radio silence for half a year with zero comms from the company. It just seems like a few resources could be made available to help new hires show up better prepared for training, which would be a win-win for the company and its new pilots joining the team.

Yes, it was called "flight engineer"
There were a lot of things about the way the system used to work that led to slow enough OJT the system worked organically.
When you spent ten years flying night freight in a twin been then a Merlin then you were flight engineer on a 727 for 3 years ... you didnt tend to make noob mistakes the first time you flew a jet.
