I just got accepted into the Cadet program, and hopefully get the remaining hours within a year. I have a question about bidding, since on a daily basis there are 6-8 OO flights to my hometown between AA/DL/UA. Is there a provision to bid flights by city? Like for example, if I don't care about weekends/holidays/AM/PM etc, but want to bid my hometown as the overnight?
However, your trip will start and end in your domicile. Unless the trip starts or ends with a DH.

I’ve successfully gotten 2 (TWO) of those overnights in 3 years….. bidding <30% in each base.

Hi all. I'm starting class in a few months and, at 50, don't see myself making it to a major or LCC and I'm totally fine with that. That said, are there any travel benefits once you age out and retire? Are you able to hop on any open AA/DL/UA metal for an international vacation, and if so, is it base/airframe dependent? I'm not finding a lot of info on retirement benefits since most people move on. Thanks in advance for any insight.

As others have said don’t sell yourself short, you definitely could still move on.
To answer part of your question, yes we get some travel benefits. United and Delta offer us travel benefits, American and Alaska do not. United is automatic and for Delta you have to be in a Delta dedicated base when you leave to receive them. I also believe that to qualify as retirement it has to be 10 years of service and over 55 but I could be wrong
