Does that mean if you're called to "junior man", you're normally getting 115%? Also is open time at 200% offered before the junior manning?
Also I had a question about ready reserve. How often are they and how long do you sit at the airport for each time you're assigned it?
Thanks

Ok thanks. If I get what you're saying if they physically call you, it's 150% but instead they just text you so it's a lower percentage at 115% or whatever other amount to be attractive enough for people to pick up the trips?

To reduce attrition. Myself and many others currently hold a CJO to mainline, they’ll need to do something eventually. Yes, they’re having no issues on the hiring side, but attrition numbers are a whole different story.
Delta has really been struggling on training it seems. I’ve had discussions with several of our pilots who had a CJO before covid, still not in class yet.

nope. Lots of schedule trimming as the flying public retreats from flying due to the delta variant. Major partners have pulled way back. Even Southwest said numbers are plummeting and they expect to make a loss again next quarter as cancellations increase. But go ahead and keep that head of yours in the sand.

Where did I say they don’t have a class date? I said they haven’t STARTED CLASS yet.

My guess would be that the new hires are unfamiliar with these issues until they’ve been here for awhile and see their buddies at other airlines dropping and swapping trips, not sitting around at the airport on reserve, and getting travel privileges on the big 3 regardless of where they’re based, also making 200% in open time vs 115%

When they raised FO’s rates out of nowhere back in late 2018 (after we already negotiated a new contract), it was due to decreased applicants, so they fixed it.

130% kicks in at something like 10 days out again with Reserve staffing below a certain percentage of Min required.
150% kicks in 5 days out, and crew scheduling can immediately put a reserve on it, or they have to assign it to the first pilot who tried to pick it up. SInce we're almost always below min staffing any trip in company open time will end up in one of those categories, it's just pilots playing the bidding game of I'm willing to pick it up eventually, or being afraid someone else is willing to do it for less. The better the trip, the more likely it is to go for straight time on the 22nd, and the worse trips end up waiting til 150%, or get broken up and assigned to reserves from throughout the system.
JrMan is in reality an outdated term from when they would start calling in reverse seniority number from the most JrMan available, and involuntarily assigning flying at 150% to the first sucker that answered their phone. Just as Jetski refers to any personal watercraft, or band-aid means a self adhesive bandage, JrMan is still used to mean 150% pay for company posted open time trips, but now you can answer the phone say I'm not willing to fly and there is no consequence or complaint sent to your chief pilot.
