Because they do not want a union on the property that's why. The sh*tstorm a "vaccinate or lose your job" would cause is a nightmare scenario for the company.

It will be too funny when YOU are required to get vaccinated to continue to be able to take part in civilized society. How do I know? Because you don’t know it yet, but Skywest crews WILL be required. Stand by for the date. I can’t wait!!!

Nope, I am not required, nor ever will be required to do such a thing. Also, you have zero clue of what I know, so I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch there fella.

I can't believe I'm saying this but for once I agree with Domino. Only a matter of time now.

I second that, amazed I am saying it but Domino is correct. It will happen like it or not.

From the press release...”they are working with the regional companies and encouraging them to embrace the same policies”.
You only posted half of what United said. They also said that UAX employees would not be mandated under United policy since they are not employees of United. They are encouraging UAX carriers to establish the same policies, but they can’t be forced. If United gets positive PR from this announcement they will milk it for all that it’s worth. Adds will mention how they lead the way in fighting the virus and enhancing safety while others drag their feet, blah, blah, blah. At that point I could see other airlines, including SkyWest, mandate the vaccine as well. If/when that day comes, the few who are not vaccinated will have the same decisions to make that United employees do.

United has a monopoly on Skywest. I’m ok with it.
So they’ll mandate. If for other reason then “shareholder wealth”.
And why not. I’m fairly far right and see vax’ing as a personal responsibility. Like donating blood. Hell. I bet 100% of blood donors are vax’d. There’s a statistic for ya.

I’m with domino on this one.

LOL, no United doesn't have a monopoly on SkyWest, so not sure what you are "ok" with.

You can feel all you want it is a personal responsibility for yourself. Great, wonderful, fine. Once you advocate and force others to mold with your "personal responsibility" it is no longer personal. Cannot talk out both sides of your mouth here on this.

Comparing donating blood and the vax is two completely things, and frankly irrelevant.

You can stick with domino and be completely wrong, that is your right.

The one thing that is 100% correct is that foreign countries can ABSOLUTELY require incoming crews AND passengers to be vaccinated. What Skywest/United chooses to do with that fact is their decision.
