A couple things come to mind... First, you don't have to use your move days right after IOE. If need be you should be able to wait a while on them. Unless policy has changed they can't force you to use them immediately. They may try to tell you that, but I don't believe it's the case. I think there is a provision for a certain number of hotel rooms provided by the company in the new domicile as well. Someone else will have to chime in on that though.
Second, it won't surprise me to hear of IOE taking a long time to get scheduled. With all of the training go on, the shortage of instructors, and attrition that's probably going to go through the roof, you might wait weeks between sim and starting IOE.
Third, you may get assigned a domicile initially that you don't want. There is a company bid every month where you might be able to change domiciles. So if you initially don't get based where you want, there's a chance you might get it after a short wait. Don't move to IAH if you want to be in DEN, and so on. Once you are here, you can look at the standing bid list and awards, as well as the domicile vacancy report and start making a plan. Yeah, you ain't going to hold PDX, but DEN, IAH, and LAX are probably going to be really easy to get into.

One thing to keep in mind is SIM location...
Had a buddy that told me a “horror story” of a guy driving his car to SLC and then almost getting assigned sims in ATL.
All that effort just to use your car for 2 weeks.
With my luck that would be me...
