I am not mad at you or any MSP crew, it is just the way the business it. I remember some 4-5 years ago, i was DTW based and SLC crews would flow through DTW to get flying. They got the 4h deadhead each way, took the 900 flying away from us and had 30h 4 day trips while the DTW crew were stuck with the sub 20h 4 day trips...

The real reason for the ERJs going west has been discussed previously in this thread I believe, and while some hold strongly to the notion that it has to do with gate construction I’d point out that the C gates have no more mainline aircraft using them than they did previously. The stated purpose, as expressed in the RSR reports, is the real reason and no data exists to suggest otherwise,

What's the expectation post IOE - timeline wise? Just trying to get a feel for the logistics phase of moving our household to whatever domicile we get after training and IOE. When would you get your first monthly reserve schedule so you know which hard days you have off? We are veteran movers (16 so far in 27 years), but this one is going to be a little bit different for sure. Thanks in advance for any info!

If you need specific days off for your custom line, you can make that request before they build it for you, but not guaranteed to be granted.

After IOE you get a guaranteed 4 days off and then they'll build you custom reserve lines (or lines with flying if they need that covered more) until you can be worked into the PBS bid. Depending on when you finish IOE that could come close to 7 weeks worth of a custom line, or it may only be 3 weeks.

You need to move before training starts. Or right after sims (prior IOE).

How much time does one normally get between the ground/sim phases and IOE. I hate to do it, but my wife has done more than a few of those moves solo before. Family usually just comes in to assist with keeping an eye on the movers as they pack out. As soon as we know the location, the wheels will finally start moving.
Thanks!

Thanks, I have a ground school start date in late December. I guess it'll be a great time to learn all about flying in the snow and ice...
