edit- I got in and updated my hours. Not sure what happened before. Nice to know I still have my employee number and stuff though.
Great, glad it worked out. I don't think I ever received an email from them or anything, just periodically updated my hours and was worried that it never really counted. But I listed my employee number when filling out one of the employment forms and it gave me a little "Cadet Transfer" acknowledgment when I was doing the new hire paperwork so it seems to have worked. My employment profile also shows the previous cadet position and original hire date.

Will the airline upgrade a crj to crj before a transition like erj to crj? Could you be stuck not upgrading as an erj fo for awhile to crj?

Just depends on company need. The transition upgrade needs to complete the full ground course so they are mixed in with new hire CRJ classes. The CRJ-CRJ upgrade just goes through a "short course" since they've already gone through the CRJ ground during their initial.

So going the crj initially would be the shorter course to an upgrade then it seems?

As of right now, yes. But as has mentioned many times over, everything is in flux. If I were coming in right now, I'd base my decision on which airplane would allow me to live in base and not commute.

Does anyone know if a candidate with a 170/190 type would get the opportunity of getting in an earlier class date? From what I’m reading here, classes are getting filled in December.

Also, when does the bonus for having a type get paid out? Completion of IOE? One year?

Thanks!

Default Reserve/Deadhead pay

Hey everyone,

Is getting paid half your normal rate for reserve/deadheads common practice?

Thanks, y’all!

DHs are 100 percent of historical average credit for that leg. Most of the time, it means you get 100 percent or very close to 100 percent of what you would have gotten paid had you worked it. If your flight diverts or gets an extra hour of flight time due to a storm around Denver, however, you won't get that extra.

Ready reserve gets half of normal pay, if that's what you mean. If you aren't on ready, normally airport sits aren't paid at all...which is industry standard. We have a 2:1 duty rig so line holders get paid at least half of normal pay for their duty period. If they actually fly more than half of their duty period, then they get paid normal pay for what they fly and nothing for the time between flights.

Hope that helps.
