skywest won’t fix reserve. In fact, they just made it worse today. SAPA gave them what they wanted again and didn’t fix a thing. TG has to be laughing at us all the way to the bank.

You’re walking into reserve life at a regional. It’s going to be less than fun no matter where you go.
Don’t let this discourage you.
Think of it this way, on the days that you’re scheduled to work crew support owns you.
The best advice/saying I heard was if you’re scheduled to work, expect to work.
If you’ve worked a job outside the aviation industry, you have an comparative reference and realize that it’s still an awesome job. If you haven’t, you complain because you ONLY get a minimum of 12 days off a month and have to work 30-50% of the days you’re scheduled to work.
Give a pilot a suitcase full of bricks and he complain about how heavy it is.

Just thought there might be something crazy out there like changing to mandatory sits at the airport instead of the 2 hour call out window from home. My wife and I plan to move to whatever base we get, so reserve shouldn't be too horrible...I hope. After 16 moves in 27 years (with 3 being overseas), we've gotten pretty efficient at moving.
Edit to add that it's with the same company, not due to job hopping...

Thanks! I'm coming from outside the aviation world, so yea, never understood the disdain for only getting ~12 days off a month...lol!

Working outside of aviation will do that or hell go work a freight run. I get 1 day week and have a 15 hour duty day; I beg for an extra day. I’m looking forward to starting up at the regionals to have some what of a life. It’s all about perspective.
