I feel pretty embarrassed by you in that you can't tell when someone is joking. it's called sarcasm. Learn how to use it.
No one in the 175 thinks they are mainline, but they joke around and say that to others, and ask pilots they used to fly with on the CRJ when they're coming over to the dark side (it's a Star Wars reference just in case you missed that too) or to Skywest Mainline, or even Skywest Heavy.
yeah, Captains make less that what a 2nd year FO at mainline bring home, and we max out at less than one third a heavy weighs. That is the joke.

After getting hired who is the best person to contact for questions? I emailed the recruiter and response time seems to be a bit slow and didn’t answer all of my questions.

I am interviewing this week and I have some questions about QOL and whether it is worth it to switch to part 121. I am at a 135 and have my ATP. I was wondering what current upgrade times are and what kind of schedule I would potentially be looking at. Is it 4 days away three days off and traveling the 3rd day on reserve? Thanks

I use non-TSO Clarity Alofts at OO on the CRJ. Except for the earbuds coming off at inopportune times, I like them.

Can someone please explain the current reserve rules and some bidding stuff?


When do you bid?
When are schedules finalized?
Can you trade/drop trips ?
How many days reserve per month with a 2 hour window?
How many days per month airport standby?
When does am vs pm reserve start and end?
Is long call reserve still pretty senior?
Can they give you a trip outside of your reserve times?

My class date is not until late fall, but I want to know what I am getting myself into

Unless I misunderstood the times during my interview on Friday, the reserve times were 0400-1600 and 0900-2100. Someone please correct me if I caught that wrong.
