Default N477CA Returning from Kingman AZ

Back in May there were 19 Delta Owned CRJ-200s parked in IGM and removed from service. On Friday, one of them (N477CA) was flown by Skywest to COS. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N477CA - Does anyone know why?

I've been expecting something like this for a long time. UA seems to be the final holdout for the oldest fleet, right? Just like the Brasilia, the 200 will see a second wind flying UA trips until they finally have to get rid of them. Maybe they'll find a third life in Mexico as a cargo plane in the latter part of this decade?

I hear there are some “organizations” in Colombia that are interested in them after we are through with them.

So is OO buying the plane from DAL, then? I can't imagine DAL would let that fly, literally...

Desert to COS, probably to be put back in order for return to DAL.
Sometimes parts/engines have been changed and they all need to be put back in the same state/Serial#/etc before it’s returned.
COS is a big Maintenance base so that would make sense.

If it was being repainted to UAX colors it would have gone to Roswell.

Delta turns in the lease. OO goes to the owner and picks up the aircraft for penny's... as the cost for them to store it, out weighs the cost to “let it go”. Then OO sends it for a MX check. Then off to ROW for paint...Then back to a MX base for incoming inspection. (Super fast because it was already flying at OO for years!!). Bammm, Enter into UA service to
cover XJT planes.. Don’t expect 100’s of these. My guess a dozen...
