My guess, and it’s just a guess, is that G7/TSH is having real big money issues. They had to return some airplanes and cancel the rest of the deliveries, and TSH shut down two airlines. They can sell the planes that they have on property for cash and lease them and try to keep the company afloat a little while longer. Meanwhile Inc. is taking on the risk because if G7 goes belly up, then Inc is in a position to takeover that flying or lease those planes to another 3rd party.

I wonder if there was a bidding war with Air Wisc.
A sale to air wisc would have meant the end of go jet, so if they are trying to scale gojet to profitability I bet Skywest got a great deal. I guess I could divide the cost by hulls, but I don’t know what a 550 normally cost.

And this is why I think there’s more to the story..
I don’t see why INC would help out G7 right now.
Did UA agreed to give OO more flying/extended contracts/more175’s (thus all the transitions) in return for OO essentially saving G7 from bankruptcy by taking over their liabilities?
If not, why wouldn’t INC just wait for G7/TSH to go completely under and then buy the airframes for pennies on the dollar?
Maybe this already happened? I wonder how much INC paid for each airframe.

I'd be surprised if this has anything to do with keeping G7 afloat. If G7 survives, then great, OO gets paid. If G7 dies, then OO leases the 550s to the next 550 operator (unless OO operates them themselves).
It totally fits into amcnd's explanation of OO's long-term leasing game.

Like a crazy option trader that can profit either way the deal moves. Plus there might be some air wisc defense fringe benefit.
The hulls are about 5-6 million a piece. That’s 21 used 550s for the cost of 4 new 175s. What ever the block hour premium is for a 175 is it isn’t 500%. Money in them hills.

don’t drop the brake. drop the brake. follow the SOPM. cut the vas deferens, splice it back together. don’t let the streams cross while changing horses.
Another flight crew checklists delay.
i don’t know if they realize how this is being perceived or maybe they don’t care.
At least more phases are time stamped now. They closed my flight out post departure time and to my surprise they didn’t code the delay to the flight crew checklist... until the next day.
I’m really happy to have a job so whatever. EBR was a pay cut.

Why is there no announcement that they will lease them back to GJ now that the sale has been made public? Why the blank secret airline leasing them? Nothing to hide if GJ will just keep the status quo and will survive a little longer with a multi year lease from SW. Everyone would be put at ease and GJ could try to hang on. I could see hiding the lease to info for now so the demise of GJ is not made public until United gives the word. If end of 2020 is the target, that is a long time to operate with the announcement of a shut down and all the complications that come with that.
