Rumors are fun but I try not to take much stock in them or participate. So just looking at the trends since covid, it gives some hints. Mesa parks 700s and gets more UA 175, their DFW and PHX flying has come back up but not as robust, and we keep sending more and more CRJ guys to DFW and PHX after months of stagnation. And we all know Mesa has kicked off their cargo flying and wants to grow on that side. Perhaps their eventual focus will be a slow wind down of AA, and bolstered UA and DHL flying. The investor call mentioned something about how the added flying wasn’t really from growth with a partner, so naturally one can deduce it’s a reshuffle and reduction somewhere, as you said in your comment.

Out of curiosity do you think OO will still need to hire in addition to the unfinished pots while still having crews’ up in MSP/DTW and their lack of flying?

Highly doubtful, there are some 200 some pilots somewhere in the training pipeline pre-checkride that got sent home, then the who knows how many that had a CJO and class date that I would assume SKW would try to honor their commitment not to mention we are overstated as is. So maybe bring back some of the guys who were in training but would be super suprised if they started hiring from the outside.

I don't think so. There's no need to hire if we're still giving out VTO/CPTO in those two bases. My guess would be a displacement bid to sort out staffing levels.

I think so. We have lost 15-30 pilots a month for the last 6 months. Adding the 20 700’s. The numbers would say we need to hire 100-200 pilots after recalling the 200~ in limbo.. because this hiring would be for summer 2021 flying.. and between now and then, attrition will keep
going at 20-40 a month...

Keep in mind they can easily dip into the CJO pool, I’m not sure how many are in there, but more than the number of trainees for sure.

For the folks that were in training and got sent. I realize some people were only at the CTP phase while certain people were all done and just waiting for ioe. Being 9 months ago, the folks that were nearly wrapped up with their training; what does this mean for them; a fast track course of sorts or start training from the beginning?
