There's usually a long wait for the ERJ, they use it as a recruiting tool. They know that newhires will be willing to wait for a class date, get paid less than a competitor pays, and commute to reserve in LGA and ORD for a year just get on the shiny new jet.

Hello all from Australia,

Just joining in the conversation here and about to have an interview next week.

Oddly enough, I am already type rated on the E170/190 with time on type but was told I would be CRJ if/when successful.

It's also an FAA TR from CAE so was quite surprised.

Looking forward to hear from any other Aussies etc.

Cheers n' beers

TT

Not many openings in ORD as of the last month, but I'm sure you'll be able to get here in no time. Trip quality seems to look better in ORD but you'd probably be able to get some good seniority in LGA faster.

They're going to put you where they want you unless you tell them you're not interested in the CRJ, but then they might not be interested in you (unlikely). I'd still go for the CRJ though. You'll make more money, more diverse flying, seniority moves a lot faster.

FYI -- I decided to go another direction and sent a letter today that should result in an open slot for the October 1 ERJ class.

If you are waiting and available, maybe reach out to your recruiter?

Good luck.
