Skywest DFW Base
#61
You are listening to the wrong word or you are on the wrong street. UA just purchased XJT and is purchasing another regional (that might have a merger thread of its own) that is still in the works.
I doubt that AA will allow a UA owned operator to run flights for them when its all done.

Alaska just announced the DAL-LGA/DCA flights are going away Fall 2018. Not sure if they're being replaced with West Coast flights.
The ExpressJet announcement didn't really specifically say where the 13 CRJ-700 would be going. It did mention Skywest, but didn't say they would go to Skywest. As much as I'd like a DFW base, we are loosing pilots now. I'd rather not take new aircraft and be better staffed. Of course it's just my luck. They'll announce a CRJ base for DFW (my home town) just as I'm new to the ERJ.

Interesting posts, hindsight 20/20.

Xjet was losing 50 pilots per month (and continues to). They just can't sustain the flying given their long upgrade (6 years) and pathetic signing bonus. It was a reasonable assumption the Xjet flying would move to SKW.
Since AA has moved their E175's to ORD (which I assume is to compete with United's E175 flying there) and out of DFW, I am interested to see if any flying other than the Xjet CRJ's are added.
Too bad Alaska is pulling back on their flying to the east coast out of DAL, I was hoping that it would be a DFW/DAL base with both CRJ's and E175's.

According to my buddy in Envoy recruitment all future 175 deliveries are supposed to go to ORD. Didn’t think about trying to compete with UA but it makes sense. Supposedly we start taking the XJT 700s next month two a month until the end of the year (according to SAPA FWIW). Plus the couple we have flying individually. Looks like a few pro rate routes start next month. I thought I read 20 700s down there eventually. Forgot where I saw that. All of our 700s go to 65 seat config for scope.
