Bombardier lost the battle to Embraer. That's why we're getting the E175 lites instead of the CRJ900s

Per people higher up in the training depart (take it for what it's worth), the CRJ-900 lite plans are on the back burner/ dead.

Of course they are. They were the convenient rumor when negotiating the deal with Embraer for the 175SC. Always have a plan B when you negotiate with a duopoly.

I am sure we secured additional SC options at a favorable price so that we do not need 900 lite any more.

And the MRJ orders are a negotiating tool for Embraer to drop prices.

I'd think Embraer is smart enough to know with scope clauses those were never going to happen hence the need for the 175 "lites"

My understand is that Skywest had the deal ready but Delta/United/AA or whoever they were to fly for would only enter into 10 year contracts and Skywest needed 15 year contracts.

Sounds like the kind of crap UA would pull after they screwed us on the 700 contract. AA ended up saving us on that one.

There is no such thing to Embraer as a 175 lite.or SC.. its a made up name at SkyWest for a E175 with 70 seats in it.. that can in a few hours be turned into 76 seats if they want to..

Speaking of such, the CRJ 700 should be the new 50 seater.

In order to turn them into 76 seater they will need to buy a service bulletin from Embraer to authorize them to do so. Not free.
