It wasn’t their making flying sound horrible at Xjet. It was 9 year upgrades that have gradually been reduced to 6 years. No wonder Xjet is losing 50 pilots per month. Envoy is waiting with open arms to have Xjet pilots fly their E145’s out of LGA in the immediate upgrade to the left seat, a $45k signing bonus, and a flow to American.

At this rate, OO’s complete turnover of pilots is about every 10 years. Xjet’s complete turnover is around 18 months. And, that is why you see OO picking up AA flying now. Xjet won’t be around too much longer at this turnover rate.
There will be some pilots that stick it out to the end to take advantage of the preferential hiring required by all ALPA carriers by their contract.

4 years at 50/month and 2500 pilots.
OO with 4600 pilots currently turning over 80/month is about 5 years.

I believe the shedding of Delta and American flying is so United can buy the remnants of Xjet per the Bloomberg article from a few months ago. I think positive news is coming their way.

How long do you believe it has been since the forum’s pilot statistics and Xjet website have been updated? A long time. Same statistics from at least two years ago. Xjet still show Delta Connection on both the website and the forum. While I may be exaggerating Xjet’s demise at 18 months, they are far from having robust new hire classes. If OO is losing sustained 80 net pilots a month over the past year, they should be at 3,000 pilots about now.

I look forward to SKW entering the DFW market and bringing a decent independent regional there.
