Not saying you’re wrong but curious where are you putting together that SLC crews are gonna staff the SCs?

As you know things change. That why they use words as “we anticipate” ... “most likely” ect. Marketing only gets the routes 90ish days out. Then start formulating a game plan to flow crews on them...

From CH, the system RSR. I wouldn’t get my hopes up. SLC is the “go to” staffing solution because the company doesn’t force pilots out of a base, not because it’s more efficient (cheaper) for them. I’d love to see more Western’ish CA seats since anyone hired in the last few years can pretty much kiss an upgrade goodbye unless they are willing to do ORD, ATL or DTW. I just don’t see it.
“Just to clarify - SLC CRJ has been overstaffed by about 50 crews for a long time now. Since the company doesn't force people out ot base, those crews have been "exported" to the east to cover MSP and DTW. Likewise, MSP and DTW crews have taken on ATL flying creating a domino effect throughout the system. The issue is not so much about staffing up DTW and ATL but to reduce the excess capacity in SLC. And btw, LAX CRJ has been facing the same challenge. Here DMA helped a little bit just as it did for SLC.
With the ERJ coming into SLC, chances are that enough CRJ guys transition from SLC CRJ to SLC ERJ to balance it all out. Notice how there was a statement of maybe 50 ERJ lines? Just enough to absorb CRJ excess capacity. I would not expect any backfill on the CRJ side.
ATL and DTW will be staffed just fine with with new hires and CA upgrades. The upside of all of this for the entire system is that we will have more flexibility in pairing creation as we are not forced to artifically move people through the system.”
