This will continue as long as XJT continues to draw down the DL operation. After that, it will be mirror fogging once again.

Now, if the XJT UAL operations implodes due to Skywest Inc's evil plan to take over the world????...Well then, all bets are off. That will tilt hire metrics all over the place for another year.

Any more recent interview gouge? Sounds like SkyWest still has one of the toughest regional interviews out there (and no bonus).

Both false. The interview isn't hard at all if you know the basic material you'd go to any airline interview with. If you're fairly current, proficient, and have a pulse, you'll breeze through.
As far as bonus, they still offer the $7500 for prior jet typed pilots both 121 and 135. I think for military as well.

I didn't find anything about the interview particularly difficult. Some knowledge elements, but nothing insane. Read the the gouge.

Can anybody give any reason why Skywest when the pay and conditions are so much better at other airlines?

Do you guys realize people are getting out of aviation all together to get away from Skywest?

For me it is pretty simple. I am from the Midwest and their choice of domiciles is far better for me as a commuter than any other airline out there. My other options for a Midwest base are TSA and Go Jet and we all know the reputation that TSH has. Second is stability, in this volatile industry and the pilot shortage, not all regionals will survive, that is a fact. Skywest is about as stable as a regional can be. Third they have the reputation for having some of the best training out there compared to other regionals. Granted the pay is low, but it will come up, it has to otherwise Skywest will cease to exist. Simple supply and demand-only so many pilots to go around. If they don’t change their pay and QOL rules they will suffer. Just my .02 and how I look at it. I could be way off base though as I am just looking at going to the airlines and am not there yet.

Thank you. That I’ll buy as a reason.

People getting out of aviation all together is nothing new and not limited to Skywest. I also got out of it several years ago and have now come back. Yes there are careers that pay way better. My sister gets paid a $1000 a week shopping for groceries. It doesn't require a degree or training. She works when she wants and is home every night. Not the same can be said for a flying career.
