I’m sorry but I don’t care if you think those “assumptions” are false. 100% of the people I talk or fly with out here at SkyEast are not happy currently and burned out from really only being home 5-7 days a month because of commuting to horrible ~18 hour 4 days that have 20 legs on a 200 out of DTW/MSP/ATL/ORD. It’s exhausting, we are underpaid, the flying doesn’t stop coming and we can’t handle it. Having zero reserve lines for 3 months straight and not getting a single day off you NEED takes a toll.

It completely depends on where you are vs. where you want to be. SkyWest isn't perfect, but I couldn't imagine being anywhere else for the last 11+ years. I've really enjoyed my time here despite the 7-year upgrade. 20 legs make you stronger. 24 legs make you Hercules.

I can't wait until you complain about sitting in a tube for 6-leg 4 days at 4+ hours a pop. Yeah, the trip pays great, but dang! That's crazy Then you know you've made it.

I'm sure this can be beat, but back in my day...

We started at $19.02 an hour. And we LIKED IT!

We commuted barefoot in the snow...backwards. And we LIKED IT!

ALPA drives meant free burgers and Heidi's. And we LOVED IT!

I hope for your sake can find a way to be happy.
If you project positivity to your crew you will probably get the same in return.
I rarely fly with stubbornly negative people but when I do it sours the whole trip for the whole crew typically.

Wow. 50% of pilots content. Is that where the bar should be set? Sounds pathetic and depressing when I hear it like that. And unfortunately you were saying that like it is a good thing..

I’m sorry you feel that way. I’m in one of those bases, and yes I am working a lot, but I enjoy it and the majority of the people I work with have been positive. 87% of my trips are commutable on both ends and 100% on at least one end. I’ve flown with two people who didn’t seem all that happy but I wouldn’t say that either was really unhappy. Sure things could be better, but believe me, things could be much worse.

95% of the people fly with here are nothing but happy with the way the company has treated them throughout their career. Me included. I can distinctly remember maybe 2 people that had nothing but complaints. And the 5% that aren't happy? Those are the vocal ones you see on here and on social media in general...

My run was pretty good. Management treated me well (I didn't do stupid stuff or lie to them, my mistakes were honest).

Never liked CS, they seemed to have an "ethical carve-out" to lie, cheat, and steal at will.

But the staffing pressures were driving QOL down the tubes, with no end in sight and the future of the regional business model is in serious question right now.

Most likely they will ultimately have to do some kind of flow deal in order to recruit and manage the pilot pipeline. But who knows how that will play out. Might get ugly before it gets better.

No place for lifers now unless you're VERY senior. And even then PBS can work you like a dog. Standups is probably the only way to avoid that, due to 117 limits.

The hardest part for me is that all this growth is East Coast and my base is very senior.. So I don’t see any improvement nor will i ever.. if i was a Midwest to East coast guy i would be loving all this growth..

Thruthenator you sound like a real gem to fly with. Stop taking your anger out on other people. It’s not their fault the good lord stuck you with a short pilot tube...
