If I remember correctly the initial US Air contract for PHX flying was only for 3 years and the original AE flying contract out of LAX was for 4 years.

Granted they were for old 200's DL was parking not brand new ejets.

Yeah but the "future growth" in phx has yet to be seen, and buddy that went to a compass presentation said that eagle flying in phx will be announced in addition to the delta flying that was recently announced.

That was a special case, a calculated decision to get a foot in the door. I was a bit surprised at the time but it seems their calculations were correct.

The fact that they didn't have to incur tail risk on new planes was the kicker.

They do them on the xjt side all the time though.

Just as a interesting side note, that was originally being negotiated for xjt but inc nixed it and took it for themselves when they bought xjt. Probably too far west for comfort.

Congrats to Skywest! I also see the old 700's are back in the air. The other day in SEA, there were 3 200's in skywest livery parked at the C gates.

Today there are 5 200's and 2 700's all doing QX milk and bread runs.. (SEA-PDX/GEG ect..)
