Wasn't that long ago DL was paying 24k your first year... and Regionals were max 60's as a turbo prop Captain. Now its Easy to make 100k as a RJ captain and put in 15-20 years your looking at 120-150k. Not bad compared to what i was thinking when I started at the regionals 20 years ago!!
Never made even close to 150K, not possible with the minimum credit pairings that make up the majority of our flying.

I don't agree with much of what you say, but this! Just because negotiating is done doesn't mean you can magically talk about the NDA. Especially if it hasn't been announced yet.

It's only passed at the SAPA level not voted on by pilots yet. Seems like a 1% raise, and soft landings (ppl can come to Skywest and maintain longevity e.g. 10 year republic FO can be 10 year FO day one at Skywest) . Not many details are available but so far seems like a tiny raise to maybe get more flying.
Did anything actually pass? and if so what?
Thanks.

Soo if soft landings 2.0 is a thing, and I'm looking to get into the 121 field as a CFI building hours..
It seems like it wouldn't be a horrible idea to go somewhere like AWAC, collect the huge frontloaded bonuses money, work there for 2 years, then come to OO as a 2nd or 3rd year FO. While I wouldn't have seniority for base/schedule bidding, I wouldn't have to start at the bottom of the pay rung at OO, correct?
Seems weird that I feel incentivized to go this route, even though I ultimately want to go Skywest.

Well, considering upgrade times it may not pay to start over, even at 3 year FO pay. You can make it as a senior FO as a line holder, but reserve is about the worst thing about SkyWest.
Do it once, don't do it again.

What if i have nothing tying me down, and I'm willing to move to wherever I get based, even if it's twice over a 3 year period?
Still a bad idea? Sorry for asking what's probably a stupid question. I'm new to this forum/industry.

If you want to fly for AWAC, fly for AWAC. If you want to fly for SkyWest fly for SkyWest.
One thing to consider, at AWAC you will be off probation in a year, that's significant at an ALPA carrier. Being new you may not be considering the importance of time and seniority, the stress relief that comes with being a line holder, and the confidence of having experience with the tribal knowledge that comes with being around a year or two.
They're all regionals, if you think you want to job hop I'd find a good bonus, fly for a year or two, and start trying for an LCC or ACMI, in other words, keep moving up, not laterally. Otherwise, I'd say, find a regional you want to work for, take it for what it's worth, and move on to your dream job.
