Skywest in not competitive anymore in its quest for pilots. Pilots can go to Horizon and get a quick upgrade and a 20k bonus.

Pilots can go to Air Wisconsin and get a quick upgrade and $49000 with a type and 41000 without.

Pilots can go to endeavor and get 23000 a year bonus.

Other airlines will get big pay increases while skywest pilots are locked in to low wages for the next 5 years.

Pilots can go to Envoy and PSA and get bonuses and flows to American. They get none of that at Skywest.

Simple solution, stop pushing the narrative that SkyWest is the place to be with management that cares. Be honest and actively discourage people from coming here. The only reason SkyWest continues to fill is because of reputation and bases. Easy to take down one of those, especially when they make it so easy.

Voter fraud aside, which it may be for all that we'll ever know, I think the senior turnout must have been high. This TA was perfectly tailored for the bitter, older crowd that is disgruntled seeing the younger pilots start with higher pay and benefits, and as an added insult the majors prefer these younger folks over their jaded and antiquated attitudes. The 401k was what sealed the deal for them.

And yes, Bravix, Envoy and Endeavor are much better choices with their higher compensation and flows/gauranteed interviews.

You been here for *months*. Are you even on the line yet?

Some of you new hires wouldn't be able to imagine what crap companies, pay and Qol most of us had to put up with to get to a place as good as SKYW.

And work for a company canceling hundreds of flights.

So just to be clear, your logic on the matter is that, because this is better than things were in the past, that we should just accept whatever we get and be happy.

I get it, this is better than what was. That doesn't mean SkyWest isn't beginning to lag behind. It also doesn't mean we shouldn't hold them accountable.

Not saying that SkyWest is crap. But it no longer lives up to the grandiose reputation which it has managed to build. Not when compared to the recent advances made at other companies. I came anticipating a near future pay raise...disappointed by this turn of events, to say the least.

But if you think it lives up to that reputation, you do you bud. Keep telling anyone looking for a job that SkyWest offers the best pay () and QOL (if you enjoy min days off and no drops). Keep telling them that the management is great and not like those at other companies (I suppose this is partially true, other companies are taking proactive measures to account for pilot shortage with pay incentives...)

Personally, I'd point them to where they could make two years of new hire SkyWest pay in their first year with similar upgrade times. I probably recommend SkyWest to older individuals who have no intention of leaving the regionals though.

Bingo!! Thank you!! When i tell the new guys.I Starting at $19.05 and didn't get paid tell after ioe!! They look at me baffled... then explain it was that or "pay for your training at Comair/ASA/continental express".... who's that...😂😂...

What realy is dumb is people getting on here and saying. Enjoy your concessionary contract... they have know idea what there talking about. For me (and no i dont get the 10% yet. Almost) its about a 4% raise if you count the guaranteed bonus money.. but if you look at my 401k calculator before the TA. Then imput the new match and account few years when it jumps to 10%. Thats a extra 1mill in my retirement account at age 65.. (im in my 40's) . I ran into a super senior guy that only has 3 years left. He voted yes so the guys like me could get the better 401k. He said he will struggle at 65. Didn't plan very well. And yes for the junior guys to get a quick upgrade, and move on if they want.. I think it was the jr guys that sent it over the top.. they didn't want a 6-7 year upgrade..
