You're not voting for the airplanes. You're voting for a marginal pay raise that was not negotiated but handed to you guys by company with a threat. "Take this or we can't buy new planes." Of course they can and of course they will. Can you imagine the board meeting? "I see you passed on 120 airplanes work $xMillion a year I'm profit." "Yes, it's because the pilots wouldn't take the pay raise we tried to give them." Management would never pass on a deal that is going to net them automatic profit. You'd all have to get 50% pay raises for the flying to be at a loss.

Can I be an ass without correcting someone? Wright amendment limited flights in and out of DAL to the 4 neighboring states in order to support the new DFW airport in the district of the future house speaker Jim Wright. It went away about 10 years ago.

Thank you for the clarification. I remember a pretty large discussion about it on the regular SkyWest page awhile back. Never heard that it went away.

Now, what would really be comedy gold is if somebody can video themselves reciting the Skywest creed in full uniform with their hat on. How does it go? I heard it was this:
"No one is more professional than I. I am a First Officer - a member of the flight crew whose purpose is to keep my passengers, crew, and airplane safe.
My decisions are the difference between life and death for both my passengers and my company.
I am the master of my emotions. No one controls my mood but me.
I will conduct myself to bring credit to myself, my Company and my profession at all times.
I will not compromise my integrity or safety for any reason.
I am a leader. I am a professional. I am a First Officer."
