I think it's delta shifting flying from compass they've been operating through slc a bit last few years but I'm not sure

Indeed.
We have plenty of new hires. Our hiring is slowing this summer for attrition only.
We went to them to come to the table early.
They are opportunists to lock in 5 years before who knows what happens with the pilot supply. They have something comeing down the road and they hinged a pay agreement to it. (Not really).
They are in a win-win. They throw a % and know costs for 5 years. Or they save a % and know we aren't getting much more next summer anyway.

Same crap they sold to XJT with a $1.50 raise. And a year and a half later there is no new flying at XJT.

You have no idea what you are talking about. That was not part of the Wright amendment agreement. Try booking a flight on Delta or Virgin to DAL and DFW and see what you get.

Well worth putting in a vote yes for that.

You're not voting for the airplanes. You're voting for a marginal pay raise that was not negotiated but handed to you guys by company with a threat. "Take this or we can't buy new planes." Of course they can and of course they will. Can you imagine the board meeting? "I see you passed on 120 airplanes work $xMillion a year I'm profit." "Yes, it's because the pilots wouldn't take the pay raise we tried to give them." Management would never pass on a deal that is going to net them automatic profit. You'd all have to get 50% pay raises for the flying to be at a loss.

There are no pilots left out there.

Right now all of the contracts are at about 50% of what the market value for a pilot is. The only thing holding things back are the contracts that you have now. Whoever signs a contract now is being stupid. Let the others ratchet up the pay scales.

Of course Skywest wants to lock in the price of pilots now, they know it is a half price sale. You are better off with no contract now. If Skywest wants to keep pilots they need to expand to keep guys moving up and they need to pay more. They need you more than you need them at this point.

You do not want an extension. You don't even want an agreement at this point.
