That's fine. I understand the reasoning for coming to the table early to try and figure out contract pricing for the future. The 1% crap won't fly much longer around here though. Pun intended.

What has happened every time we have voted no? Oh yeah...they have quickly come back with a better offer. You guys act like this is the first time we have seen these tactics.

If you were buying a rental property, you'd want to know that the rents would cover your costs.
That said, can they afford more than 1%/year and still do the deal? Probably.

Hold the line, guys. Having negotiated many deals in my side business, I know from personal experience that the first offer is never best and final. If it works for you, vote yes, but I really think you can do better than what they're offering you. All of us here at XJT fully support you!

If you wish in one hand...
But they do want growth because they want to thrive financially.
According to you. But major and regional managers would probably disagree.
Except for senior regional lifers (who tend to control regional pilots groups).
This could happen if a national association of airline pilots (ALPA + APA, etc) agreed to push it. But the additional money to bring the regional pilots up to mainline pay would have to come from...mainline pilots.
Mainline pilots benefit almost as much as management from the regional system, especially senior mainline pilots. Now it is a dangerous game they play, and they walk a very fine line...they obviously don't want TOO much of their flying outsourced...

This is time tested in this industry. SkyWest BOD are extremely conservative.. they dont want to be stuck with 100 money losing airplanes in 5 years. This just happened to Republic. They had to dump the Q's and 145's. But took bankruptcy to do that... Many airline in the past had to sign a deal to "survive" or "grow". The most historical is the Eagle 16 year contract.. back in the late 90's. Pass it our your done, and the jets go elsewhere..(i got caught up in that one) . Anyway. In this case they are not asking for a pay cut. They are offering a mid contract extension with raises to be able to forecast cost to get this flying...
So INC needs to take a leap of faith regardless. And I suspect we will see growth regardless. Time will tell....

Rumor is 30 planes initially, up to 120. Some 900s and some 175s, mostly 175. ATL, Dallas (not sure ac but Dallas is being rumored for Alaskan growth)and SLC base for 175 rumored, only true when it happens but that's rumor in schoolhouse.

That's the consensus all around so far. Only issue is I don't believe the same 121 operator can operate at both DFW and DAL. There was an ordinance preventing that awhile back. Not sure if that rule is still around.

CRJ shrinkage in SLC then? I know it'll come sooner or later with the terminal but that's a ways away right now. I imagine if SLC 175 base opens I can move up in seniority from the bottom of the list. Wonder how senior the captains would go.
