You're getting 2% plus 2% PPS (on a double guaranteed payout) 1% 401k first year and 4% total the next 4. I swear pilots should be required to get a degree in finance and/or accounting.

Just don't have anything else better to do with your time than come on other regionals comment boards to argue? Just, why?

Give me a break. People like you are what is ruining the middle class in America. Or you're just managment shills like RJ.
I happen to have a BS in Finance and a Minor in Economics. I'm not typing out of thin air over here. I just love how every pilot grows 4 new sets of balls when a new contract comes out and says "eff this piece of crap!!" Supply and Demand is great, but it will ultimately reach its ceiling; the available resources of such demand. Listen, I'm just a pilot like you. I want the best pay and work rules. I have a family and friends that I like to hang out with. I also understand there's a reason why I have my apps out and am doing all I can do move on to the next part of the totem pole. There just isn't enough coin in the kitty to satisfy most regional pilots. But while I'm here, I'm choosing to understand what the business model is and what they are trying to accomplish for everyone. This contract puts us at the top of the payscale for "our level" of the industry. How much more do you think you can get and still expect to have a job in 5 years because of cost? Don't you want (presumably) more airplanes, which would lead to better seniority and QOL? Possibly more domiciles? I just ask that we don't end up like every other "regional" thread that I read on here. We are better than that.

What's wrong with forcing the company into a 2nd or 3rd offer? They aren't going to agree with anything that puts the company in jeopardy. And nobody starts a negotiation with the best offer they can do. That's just common sense.

This is literally identical to last contract when they promised OO wouldn't grow if the pilots turned it down. How much have we grown since then? How many domiciles? How many airplanes?

We are at the top when you look at SAPA's graphs. The same people who made those graphs said "all regionals with bonuses are going out of business"...so every regional but us?

Why can't we get a contract close to what Horizon got?

I mean come on, it's a 5 YEAR contract. 5 years...

*or pay agreement to be technical since it's not really a contract

Never in the history of US airlines has there been more upward pressure on pilot salaries. Why would anyone be considering a 2% increase with a 4% increase over 4 years? I expected much more for the Skywest guys.

Air Wisconsin is giving a $31,0000 signing bonus paid fully by the end of IOE.

Envoy is paying a $22,100 bonus day one of training. Envoy has a direct path to American. Envoy has much better travel privileges on American. Skywest is basically the last to get on on their many airlines.

Endeavor is paying 23,000 per year retention bonus.

PSA has a 21650 signing bonus with a CRJ type or 5000 without. They also pay a 2500 bonus per quarter for years 2 and 3. Captains get a 7500 bonus.

How is Skywest going to get the 1200 pilots to man 120 new aircraft? They will have to pay new hires some kind of bonus.

Maybe they could negotiate a little higher spot for travel on their mainline partners too. I always hate seeing them left at the gate while the new hire Envoy and PSA families get on.

I'm not sure what your point is here. That's absolutely nowhere close to 3% annually. The increase in the first year in no way makes up for the paltry 1% in the later years. Start with a number and add up the difference over the next 5 years. $100 grows to $106 with this deal. 3% annually would put it at $116. Meanwhile inflation if it stays the same will mean you'll need $110 in five years to buy what $100 buys today.

The PPS quite possibly might just be diluted by a larger pilot group as well. That's already happened with out current PPS.

That sounds lovely and all except the company and SAPA won't reveal ANYTHING at stake here (yes I understand there are NDAs involved). Telling us "oh yeah there's a real chance for these things if this passes" gives me literally zero motivation to vote. Start revealing some details and they will likely find a lot of people more inclined to vote yes, myself included DEPENDING on what is at stake.

For me personally? Secure contracts that get me back to DFW or IAH and I'll likely vote yes. Would still like to see first year closer to the $38/ hr range but the PPS was a nice surprise.
