This sounds like code for "know your place, peasants!"

On an individual basis, sure. Not on a collectively-bargained one such as this.

The past offers no analogue to the present; regional pilots have never been in similarly short supply before and thus are more valuable than ever. The company would like us to forget this important fact and SAPA seems willing to oblige. I'm not, and neither should you.

The question before us now is where does the supply curve meet the demand curve? I suspect it's north of the graphs we were supplied with. Unfortunately, I don't know of any formally-trained economists or financial analysts currently serving in SAPA, so correctly pricing our services will prove difficult. (Not for nothing, but ALPA has such resources and this is why.)

The company is aggressively pursuing market share, that much is clear. Partnering with them in this endeavor will certainly reap rewards for the pilot group but let's not sell ourselves short.

Personally, I'll await the company's follow-up offer.

History has a tendency to repeat itself. This was their low ball offer and when we vote no they'll present a more realistic one for us.

And the new flying will still come our way.

Not likely. Last year bunch of ERJ's we won by Mesa/Republic. And so will this opportunity... you dont think that other airlines are bidding for this flying?? They are.. We need to stay top notch yet competitive... this TA does both.. is our PPm a shiny brick of gold above all other airline contracts... NO.. but its close to the top in all areas.

They have a chance to completely dominate the regional industry, yes or no from the pilots will likely not impact this at all.

But... if they really wanted this thing to pass providing even some detail into the alleged growth would certainly push this thing through. The guy on the call claimed GM was running around this morning saying 120 airplanes and the SAPA guys with NDA's were dead silent.

Something like this from the company would get everyone all hopped up on the kool aid and it would easily pass.
I don't even want them to 'dominate the industry'

If you want to make more, there are other companies out there who sell their own tickets. They can do this, a contract carrier is limitied in what they can offer.
INC came to XJT for the last TA and gave the pilots a 1.50 raise claiming they would then be able to acquire new flying. INC has continued to keep the growth on the SkyWest side. Your INC management lies and they even tell both sides the same lie.

Your company cheerleader attitude makes me nauseous.

So, you'd want to accept a Mesa contract to compete for Mesa flying. Sounds like good rationale

Voting NO. SAPA and the company must not have been serious about wanting to get the contract extended.
Send it back, let them sit down again and tweak it to make some meaningful changes.
They can start by listening to the pilot group and working on some QOL improvements. Some of which will cost them absolutely nothing! Others which will cost them very little.
Stop saying QOL improvements will follow a successful pay agreement. They will not. If you want QOL improvements they need to be tied in with the pay package because the only time the company will listen is when it affects them financially, during pay negotiations when they NEED us to agree on a new pay package.

Wake up and look at the state of the industry- the need for pilots has never been greater. Take pride and value yourself for what you do. You're a professional pilot, you should be paid and treated like one.

So let me get this straight. Inc is making huge profits. Stock near all time high. Spending extra cash on stock buy backs. And you all are willing to take a 1% raise and little if any QOL improvements. No retention bonus. 1st year. Still below $40/hr.
Taking this deal for a promise of more plans that r coming your way regardless. This is basically the pilots financing the aircraft.
