FlyDubai 737 crash in Russia

Sure, but there should be operational control systems that prevent dispatch if those conditions are forecast to exist. There should be company procedures and limits. The flight may have been "legal" to go, but how much risk was involved? Was the dispatcher following along with this? If it was "legal" was it only just barely and what should the elevated risk level prompted, such as a 2nd review, or PIC reporting back with weather updates? There's a hell of a lot more involved than just the pilot, it's usually a system-wide failure due to lack of operational control mechanisms/systems, and the pilot is just the last hole in that chain.

So what was the actual crosswind component?

Anxious? Haha, nice.
Well the main issue I have with it is the AVH saying they "struck a wing tip on the runway".
I could be slightly misquoting, but I am not going to read it again now.
Had they even seen the flight path tragectories? Doubt it. The crew executed a go-around at minimums, or just before, in almost the exact same spot as the 1st approach. The crew pitched up for the go-around and maintained that pitch, then adjusted nose down, what looks to be few degrees and maintained that, then the sudden, and severe, angle down.
The wing tip never got near the ground during the approach.

Yes it is a tragedy, 60 people won't be going home tonight! The fact that this is an industry that I work in does bother me...does it bother you?

Definition of Tragedy: an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe.

You work in this industry? So what? So do I. Do you have a body that is susceptible to heart disease, cancer etc? So do I. Do you drive a car in which, you should know, are more likely to die in than in an airplane? So do I.
It is no more a "tragedy" than the circumstances in which many more have died today. You are playing into the very media sensationalism that you probably have complained about.
While unfortunate, no. It doesn't bother me. It's just another accident. Learn from the report when it is released and move on.

So that definition doesn't cover the many, MANY more deaths that occurred today? There are many more than 60 people that "won't be going home tonight" due to a multitude of reasons outside of an aircraft accident.
