British Airways fire at LAS

I thought so too.
My take: the shredded left nacelle could have been the original problem, OR it could be heat damage from the fire...aluminum melts pretty easily; sometimes it hangs in strips, post-fire.
However, I seriously doubt it was a punctured wing/fuel-fire. If so, it would not have gone out so quickly. It would have burned to the ground.
It looks like a brake/tire fire. The smoke shows a tailwind in the video; so the heat and smoke went forward, scorching (and starting to melt) the fuselage forward of the wing.
I've seen jet-fuel burn in a crash, and I've seen tire fires...this smoke looks more like a tire fire.

‘Fire extinguisher failed’ on engine of British Airways jet that burst into flames in Vegas and EXPLODED spraying the cabin with pieces of burning shrapnel
- Boeing 777 caught fire on runway in Las Vegas yesterday while travelling at 90mph in preparation for takeoff
- New close up images of the aircraft show the GE90 engine appears to have exploded inwards toward the fuselage
- Trail of charred wreckage between engine and aircraft suggests burning fuel was sprayed on to the plane

Yes. We've seen this time and time again. Brings up a question...
Why doesn't the pre-flight safety briefing include something at the end like:
"Lastly, in the event of an emergency evacuation, do not stop to retrieve your personal belongings before exiting the aircraft. Your belongings are not worth the loss of your life or anyone else."
????
Of course, this should be repeated in an actual emergency.

Just to be clear....you don't say anything during pre-flight, only upon actual evacuation? Or is it both?
As you undoubtedly know, there are a lot of airlines who don't say anything about this in the pre-flight brief when people are calm and hopefully paying attention. There is certainly no mention of it in many of the safety placards I've seen.

I've seen pix of luggage with red line through it on demo cards, but most pax don't bother looking at it.

Sayalt:
I stand corrected! Hadn't seen these close-ups before.
It confirms for me this thing was seconds from being a conflagration, with probable loss of life.
(Although I wonder if it was a fuel-leak from the engine, vs the wing).
And the right nacelle clearly says GE90.

Mach .75, I saw this bird sitting on the outer perimeter yesterday and I can say that it sure looked worse then it actually was, appeared as if Johnny Cash had paid the front fuselage a visit.
