TV news has replaced the comedy channel, it is only good for a few laughs. Reporting has been replaced with opinion and speculation, the few facts revealed are often as not fabricated from the whole cloth and fashioned into a funny looking tool without any useful purpose.
The rest of network programming is at exactly the same level.
Made by scoundrels and consumed by rubes.

On subject, morning of CNN had the chairwoman of the NTSB on a live phone interview. And I don't know who fed her the info, asked (and I'm paraphrasing) that even though new rest regulations for "commercial airline" pilots have been mandated and the cargo airlines were excepted, will the NTSB look at fatigue as a possible cause? The chairwoman responded by stating that the NTSB is "strongly opposed to the cargo cutout" and human factors are a part of every investigation. I was surprised by the question and the response, in that CNN was aware of he rest rule exemption and the current NTSB chair came out strongly against it.
