I watched it a few weeks ago, & really enjoyed it. Still sad about it though.

What I find interesting is how they think flying the Airbus manually is difficult. And crews who are very familiar with flying the Airbus lose the "stick and rudder" skills.

Yeah, that is insulting IMO. We are taught a pitch and power setting to fly if we lose our pitot static instruments. I often turn off the AP, FD, & AT to tune the 'stick & rudder' skills.

Although, the Multi Crew Pilot License has put extremely low time pilots in the right seat of many non US airliners. I believe one of the AF 447 FO's had less then 4500 hours. Very uncommon for a US WB FO.

Would you think it is safe to put 1000 hour PIC (800 hours in type) and 250 hour SIC (20 hours in type) in an Airbus 330?

We had a guy who had only flown a CRJ, who was made the Fleet Manager of the A330 fleet (of one). New type to the airline.

First time he flew it was without a current medical. Huge fine and suspension of his ATP.

The question was skewed, although you didn't know it. The hour breakdown is the dead giveaway.

What was left out from the flight times is if the pilots were trained in the military.

I may be wrong at what KC10 was getting at, but I don't think so. If I'm not wrong, it makes the whole thing a non comparable/non applicable situation. As we all know.
