It never ceases to amaze me, no matter what the circumstance, pilots will find a way to criticize other people...hilarious though!

True, true...I was amazed at how many dudes were going CRAZY at this thing. Some of these guys looked like teenage girls at a Backstreet Boys concert or something. GROWN MEN! In fact, the guy that I was sitting next to was a huge fan of Celine Dion. He got tickets 14 months in advance! I was shocked. He joked about how the ticket scanners took our "man cards" at the door. They might of taken his...I just gave mine to the girlfriend for the night

"He's a big dumb animal isn't he folks?"
The ntsb were able to pull the CVR recording from the cockpit. Just prior to impact, the CVR picked up the faint sound of........................................AFLAC!!!!!

In his defense I don't think he was planning on a swim in the Hudson yesterday. One can pay attention all day long, but nobody knows how well they will remember/perform when the proverbial you-know-what hits the fan.

You'd think he'd get a clue looking at everyone else or asking "Why is this thing choking my neck?"

I flew yesterday out of Las Vegas immediately following the US Air ditching. All the pax had been watching the situation on the CNN monitors at the gate. NEVER saw pax so focused on watching the safety video as we were taxiing. The US Air guys did wonders for our FA's and safety. Everyone was glued. No texting, no reading, no ordering drinks, nothing. Finally!

I was wondering about this. I have no idea because in my aircraft it's just me, myself, and I, but I am curious as to what the Captains on this board say.
If you were the PNF on this leg, and knew a water landing was imminent, would you let the FO keep it, or would you take it back?

That's my guess. (And I'm also guessing it was an "East" crew because they were going to CLT.) Any East guys out there to confirm?
My point is that that experience is what the captain would have considered in making the decision.
