Captain and crew did a phenomenal job!!

The four striper was a Navy F-4, Piedmont type before USAir.

Unfortunately, no such luck. The colder the water is, the more painfully aware you are going to be....less than 50F is really unpleasant, and can cause heart attacks. But it looks like most of the pax avoided sustained submergence.

No kidding. After this one, (and CAL, and Air China, and Air France) I'm a real believer in how important their job is if it comes down to it.

Love that Media
Most pilots do not have journalism degrees. Let us also not forget that most broadcast journalists did not attend Embry-Riddle prior to studying journalism. They do the best they can with what little they have.

You know someone video taped this. Thousands of people watched it go into the water. It will be interesting to see a video. A passenger said on the news the plane clipped a wing and spun around a few seconds after impacting the water.

Megyn Kelley just said on 'Bill O'Reily' that she does not expect any law suits to come out of this event (Act of God), but that she wouldn't be surprised that some "sleezy" lawyer doesn't try to bring up a law suite - although Bill said that if one did - he would spotlight them

If anything comes out of this it will be the Sierra Club pushing for manslaughter charges in the deaths of all of those geese.

A truly incredible job, and an example of why everyone needs to have their a-game ready every time they strap in.

Several people have mentioned the CAL accident, but this is actually the third accident in 12 months that should have resulted in fatalities, but didnt: This one, CAL, and the BA 777 at LHR last January.

Everybody did a great job. I'm sure the flight crew couldn't do it by themselves. Some of those passengers had to be there too.
