More on the QX jumpseater & pilot/atc health
Interesting interview with Mr Emerson, but he does bring up a good point towards the end.

Pilot whose dream becomes reality and then does something incredibly stupid wants to fly again? It happens every day. People do something careless, lose their licenses, and still want to fly so they get them back (many do it unlicensed). Frankly, I have no problem with it if he's treated and earns back his ratings if he wants to fly on the side. It's safe to say he'll never fly at a 121 ever again

To be frank, he should never be allowed to fly again nor should anyone who is taking any kind of Drugs, even the ones the FAA just approved. I believe it’s a massive ask for another incident and once it happens it will be difficult for the FAA to back paddle on why they approved these drugs in the first place.
I'm also guessing you think being a pilot requires one to pass an astronaut physical.
