The rest would have to move to base, although there might be some limited CBA accommodation for positive space commuting.
Lots of folks will still choose to commute. It just means doing so will get more expensive.

Probably a former Airbus guy. They just miss that try table so much. Well, he will see plenty of trays in prison.

That's a lot of counts for attempted murder.

This, any background on this douchbag?
In a way we’re fortunate he made the attempt in someone else’s flight deck and failed instead of his own where their outcome may have been very different.

Ouch! 167 charges! He won't be on a flight deck ever again!

Found this too: https://katu.com/amp/news/local/man-...A6wl9MNw1RnCU0

The perp has 320/737/CL-65/Dash 8 type ratings. Clearly he’s a pilot and most likely came up through the Horizon/Alaska group. I think that settles whether or not he’s a pilot.

This has got absolutely nothing to do with jumpseating. It could have easily been a working crewmember who flipped out (See Jetblue 191, Sunwings, etc)

This is about mental health and since the FAA has shown zero interest in pilot mental health in the past, I wouldn't expect a whole lot this time around

Sure - I can't disagree but we are all going to be wearing diapers for a while.

my vote - the horizon pilot who may have just cost everyone jumpseating.
I dont think this is going to cost anyone jumpseating. It's an isolated event, just like MX taking a Q400 for a joyride.

Im not a scientist but I would imagine there is plenty of data showing that an extra qualified crew member on the flight deck increases safety much more than literally a 1 in a million event like this.
