This is sad. Dude looked like a normal guy, smiling big in multiple pics with his young kids. Former Virgin guy who lives in Pleasant Hills, CA, so was probably commuting back home. I'm gonna go with nasty divorce-in-progress, suicide attempt.

Considering his name is published and it is obviously not a Muslim name.….I Dont think it’s very likely…..but your are on to something as if it were you bet your ascot the narrative would be terrorism. Since it’s not….the narrative will be Mental Health.

You better believe they would like to take away the jump seat but as has been pointed out …..50% could potentially be out of position………..money always speaks louder than safety/security and airline execs will always listen.

Imagine this guy paired up with the United CA that took the axe to the DEN parking gate. What a doozy of a flight that would be.

Like most lone wolf type events, there was something in his life that triggered this. Someone close to him had to have seen signs things were not right. I don’t think it will be too difficult to find out what triggered him. The challenge is preventing the next one.

This. Money talks, security theater BS walks.

Airlines don't really care whether or not we have to get anal probed by TSA on a daily basis. They do care if half of us can't get to work, or they have to block seats for us.

It's barely noted in the mainstream media. Thanks Hamas.

I was thinking this too! Or the guy who stole the Horizon Q back in 2018 as this guy's co-pilot.

The word is that this (now ex-) AS captain from last night's QX flight supposedly tried to pull the fire handles for both engines. Not sure of the sequence of events in relation to rolling back the throttles. He is indeed former VX. The Horizon crew had their hands full, and they handled it like rock stars, all things considered. BZ to them.

This is about mental health and since the FAA has shown zero interest in pilot mental health in the past, I wouldn't expect a whole lot this time around
If this guy is a product of the FAA’s liberalization of use of antidepressants they will show all sorts of interest in mental health issues, just as they did after the Germanwings incident. 1% of people will go schizophrenic sometime in their lives. I’m not sure any need to go back in the cockpit again.

Re-read my post. I meant ANY pilots in the cockpit, in any seat.

Dumb place to attempt. If you want to off yourself, keep it to………yourself. I’m not part of your plan, and neither is everyone else.
