Then I’m gone go ahead and say Q Anon right winger trying to cause The Storm. Got nothing to back that with, but if it works for you…

Haha good luck staffing an airline when 60 percent of pilots can't get to work anymore.

This is about mental health and since the FAA has shown zero interest in pilot mental health in the past, I wouldn't expect a whole lot this time around
FAA has moved forward on mental health for pilots, not like the old days.

Gonna disagree with you on the JS though. Our overly hyper security for everything and everyone dot gov is going to nuke the JS. The press is going bonkers with this. The narrative I'm seeing is crazy pilot authorized to flight deck tried to kill 63 people.

Say good bye to jump seatting for awhile

I heard it was a global warming protest…trying to reduce the carbon emissions on that flight.

Unfortunately this happened before with FedEx. That was a 3 pilot cockpit, and all pilots were so badly injured from the struggle that none ever flew again.

I want to be optimistic and believe this new incident won’t lead to any changes, but I doubt it. The FAA has nothing to lose by restricting the jump seat from pilots who are not operating the flight.

Ummmm No. Not happening. Do you realize the fallout from half the industry commuting then not being able to. The of delays and cancellations will be astounding. The govt does not want that!

Here is a quick solution. Every CASS airline that participates in jumpseat will keep either one or two cabin seats open for JS. If no one is listed or shows up it goes to non revenue pax. Quick fix and it would work - just at a loss of revenue to airline. I heard a statistic that 50 percent of airline pilots commute. So there has to be a solution.

“Tried” being the key word. IF he has succeeded, it’s front page news. He failed and this is slotted somewhere between the speaker of the house issues and Ukraine. “If it bleeds, it leads,” so Palestine Israel is front stage.

As far as jumpseating going away for a while, slim chance. Air travel stops when pilots start exercising codified contract language.
