Remember the 145s are not going to be flying for much longer. Something to consider should the hiring stop. 175s will be around for a while.

If you dont mind flying to other side of Hudson, Endeabor NY base would be a lock for you. Good money too

That's all I had to add, good luck with yalls decision.
Actually there are 4 different flows/guaranteed FO jobs at GLA now... (Frontier, Allegiant, Omni and Atlas). Things are changing ever since more ex-UA pilots joined up. That being said, QOL still suuuucks.

All I can say is I'm at Republic and am enjoying it so far. I got hired back in February this past year. I was at another regional recently and am enjoying the increase in pay here, better work rules, and things seem to be turning around for the most part. Could things be better, sure, but hey it's a regional... If you want EWR you'll get it, and most likely a line out of training or a few months after although that may change with the shuttle guys coming over, who knows...I haven't been keeping up with all that. Regardless EWR is very junior.

I'm PIT based and am being put on out of base reserve in ewr almost every week, actually at the gate as we speak about to head out there for a day trip tomorrow and most likely a few reserve days...ewr must be way understaffed.

And to answer someone else's question, yes we are AQP but not for initial-yet. Training wasn't too difficult though, almost everyone in the class passed and passed the checkride the first time around. Good luck pm me if you have any more questions

Leaning more towards C5... Yeah it's an ERJ 145XR but really it's not what we fly now that matters. Flying a 175 won't get you to mainline faster than someone flying a BE1900. (Okay maybe if you're Great Mistakes you have no chance). But you get the point. Commuting from MCO-IAD can be a ugly sometimes... But with the C5 commuter policy I think it will make it less stressful and less time in crash pad. I think good things are in store for the future of commut air. Growth is good. But can also be bad.

Where did you end up? Seems like not too long ago C5 was your destination.

On reserve at C5 for 7 months now in dulles, they are starting to pull down D8 soon which could probably mean more reserve for me. If you get the 145 and ewr then you probably get a line sooner than 7 months (they are currently trying to build EWR ERJ with crew, every bid since February is EWR ERJ) but it doesn't look good for dash reservists. They use reserves though but I think I should've done Republic. If I do any lateral movement it will be republic and hopefully get DCA.

Just my 2 cents

C5 for growth (increase in aircraft count and movement from pilots departing for United CPP and other attrition), hence movement, and upgrade. (More CA $$ sooner and PIC time to move on)

Make sure you get the ERJ-145. If given/offered the DHC-8 kindly say No Thank You. C5 has had guys given the DHC-8 at Indoc only to quite on paper and then start again as a ERJ-145 pilot. Sadly being on the DHC-8 side of the house is slow movement at this time comparatively.

If you are a zero FAA121 time CFI/other guy. You WILL upgrade at once you reach your 1,000 121 time point. It will be on the ERJ-145, as it will take you at least 18 months to get your 1,000 hours, with ground/sim training etc.

If you are a prior 121 time pilot. You could take the street captain upgrade on the DHC-8. (You will be in reserve, but you will also fly) Or take ERJ-145 FO, get the sign-on bonus, and end up with a line ASAP. (C5 is very short ERJ FOs) Then take the first possible upgrade in the ERJ.

I think RAH seemingly has more positives other than the longer upgrade, lack of flow or CPP and lower priority travel benefits.

I can't see UA dumping a bunch of $ for ADS-B for the 145. That puts these lifespans at about 2.5 years
