Just don't see the reason for a jumpseater to lie about where he flew previously and for how long. I've had a few lately that were rpa FOs and are now United FOs. But whatever, we could debate this forever.

I've personally flown with three FO's in the last year that were hired by United. All three are young, white guys that networked like crazy and did multiple job fairs. So it is possible to actually work ones tail off and get the job.

How happy is everyone at RAH- Serious question. I'm looking to make the jump to somewhere better. Also how long to hold a line in EWR?

I believe you...some pilots just get the "silver bullet" and without much experience they get a legacy slot somehow, and if they do, I'm happy for them. I'm just one of the many here who has been trying for a long time and hasn't heard a thing. Slightly frustrating. Sorry for the thread divert...back to the OPs question...if you study the gouge (there are plenty online), are personable, and bring some knowledge about previous airplanes you flew, I think you'll do just fine.

There are the usual Debbie-downers and naysayers here but the percentage is small. Things are a bit hectic right now with the 145 going away...senior people sitting reserve, bases closing, lots of training in progress, but I think things will settle once it's gone in the Fall. In general I think the majority of us are content. Not to the point of staying here forever, but there are definitely worse places to be. The new contract isn't perfect, but it's a definite improvement from the last one. Many jumped ship to whatever they could find when this bankruptcy talk began, but it's simply a restructuring...I see no change to our contract, or any furloughs arising from it.

I assume now that the United thing got announced EWR is a pretty safe base. Anyone agree with that?

Yes. I would expect to see it grow significantly.
