You definitely did it wrong. I spent less than half that for all my ratings, an associate's degree and a bachelor's degree.

Good for you, but did you know that when you started? Most of these stories like this start with the student not knowing anything about aviation, much less having a pilot mentor. They are told to pick the best school from elementary school and by the time they realize what they are in they have no choice but to finish.

Know what when I started? How to compare costs of different schools vs quality? I think that's a basic life skill. No? Find out what you're paying for, what your getting for your money, and the value of the product that you are receiving for said money.

considering pilot training is roughly 60-70,000 I'm curious as to where you went to school and when.

Portland State University. Finished about 7 years ago. Got a few grants and scholarships to help. Are you saying you spent 130k on a 4 year degree?

Yeah.....that's just simply very poor decision making right there.

I have a friend that went $60,000 in debt to for ATP's fast track program at a 12% interest rate. All he does is ***** and moan about how little money he has. Yeah, regional FOs deserve to be paid more. But that doesn't change the fact that he made very poor choices, and only has himself to blame.

You can look into a school all you want but the fact is I know of multiple schools that advertise a $60,000 program when in reality it's twice that amount usually.

There are aviation schools preying on students that can get funding by flat out lying about program cost and it's too late by the time they realize.

Ask Delta/Endeavor (Pinnacle) about how well that worked out for them....

That's simple... you paid WAY to much for college.
