The current upgrade time, for those currently upgrade, should never be used as what a new hire, hired today, will experience. The only time it would be the same is if that person upgrading, had standard attrition, stagnant fleet size and the new hire experiences the same thing.
Republic went through a growth phase and now is going through a contraction phase. That does not bode well for new hires. You basically have to absorb fleet losses to reach your upgrade. They also are trying to negotiate changes to how their mainline partners pay them so they can keep a reliable business. Look at what Expressjet (XJT) and Mesa went through in 2008-2009 and how that affected their fleet size and business model.
Compass had pilots upgrading right out of training in 2015, but that doesn't mean a new hire, hired today, will see that. They're looking at 2-4 years if nothing changes.
Endeavor and Envoy went through contraction phases the past few years and now will be going through more than average attrition due to their regional-mainline agreements and they look to be growing their fleets again. That means a new hire will experience something different in terms of upgrade time than someone hired in years past.

Republic has already had issues with staffing all of their new agreements unless they parked other airplanes or reduced the deal. Don't be shocked to see the rest of their new planes go through similar adjustments.

Yes, but I would hardly say the 30 will be growth since they have spent the last 2 years parking airplanes or shrinking just to keep up with the pilot head counts. It would not surprise me one bit to see those get cancelled as well or other airplanes get parked or transferred to another carrier so they can staff those 30.

This will work IF Republic is able to renegotiate their contracts with the mainline partners so they can afford the new pilot pay contract. If not, it won't matter how many new hires they get.

And their new pilot contract doesn't even compensate what will be needed to compete with the likes of what Endeavor offers right now. That and the attrition levels at Endeavor and Envoy will make Republic less appealing to new hires, furthering their need to increase their compensation levels to recruit new talent, and furthering their need to renegotiate with the mainline partners for even more money to make it happen.

Especially because AAG laughed the Rev out of the room now that all the WOs are inside the model they want with the 12/4 scales and similar pay throughout

I need some honest opinions. No I don't care about the 170, no I don't care about upgrade, I'm specifically interested in going for the QOL-I want to live in PIT.
I'm currently working for a 121 carrier and am on endless reserve, and upwards of a 10 year upgrade, and no defined future for the company.
I feel that if I do end up having a long sit at a regional (trust me I'm applying to the majors), I may as well go somewhere where I can live in base, and be off reserve relatively quickly, and still upgrade in less than ten years...I've been at my company close to 3 years and still have another year or two of reserve and it's getting worse by the day.
So my question is, is republic as unstable as people are making it? I've been following the forums and I see a lot of mixed information.
Let me say one last time, I'm not jumping for any other reason, but I'm at the point I'm fed up with my QOL and am just looking for a little improvement. Don't hate! Smart move or completely stupid?
