I did notice that. Read in the message boards about the issues they've had, but it seems like with the new pilot contract, pay, benefits, etc. that things are turning around there... Any Republic folks care to share a thought?

If anything, they are worse. The company is setting itself up for a bankruptcy. Do not mistake that with actual progress. The company stock was at $15 a share a couple months ago. Now it is $4. It is not a healthy company. The labor costs have gone up dramatically, but the mainline "partners" are not paying more to RJET to cover these costs. The company is losing money, and is even getting sued by Delta for cancelling so many flights.
As far as labor relations go, talk to current employees. They are no better now than they were before. The flying is being lost to other companies left and right, and will continue to do so.

Via Airlines now has highest pay in the regional industry
To recognize the importance of ViaAir’s success and the dedication of its pilots, Via Airlines, in cooperation with its business partners, now offers the highest compensation in the regional industry
Effective December 1, 2015 base salaries will begin as follows:
· Captains: $70,000 per year
· First Officers: $42,500 per year
Furthermore, also effective December 1, 2015, within 30 days after completion of annual recurrent training, pilots still employed with Via Airlines will receive annual lump sum retention pay equal to:
· Captains: $30 per flight hour flown during the year
· First Officers: $15 per flight hour flown during the year
Also, pilots will receive incentive pay of $350 per day for Captains and $200 per day for First Officers for each day worked over 16 days per month.
Via primarily flies the Caesars Entertainment charter network, college sports teams, and flights for our sister company ViaAir.
NO 8 TO 10 LEGS PER DAY IN AND OUT OF THE MAJOR AIRPORTS!! The highest industry pay with the best industry work environment. Come fly for Via Airlines!

Go to a place expecting it to be your last place of employment.
That's sound advice.
Look at pay, contract, qol. If growth is important look at that. We all know things can change quickly, but place of employment generally doesn't. Choose one that you can live with and be happy.

I just left a charter company after 11 years to go to a regional, I would say it's not all roses on the charter side. Being on call ALL the time gets really old, pretty much you don't know you have the day off till after it happened. That's really the biggest reason I'm moving out of charter. I don't know that you'll be home more in charter either as it's not uncommon to be gone 4 days a week or more flying charter. My experience has been most charter operators will have no schedule at all, just doesn't fit in with their business model. As with anything quality of life and pay will vary from operator to operator. Your top pay potential will most likely be with an airline also, just not at first as I'm sure you've seen.

Hi, I am currently flying for a charter company based in FL flying a hawker and westwind jet..
Let me tell you that saying:" you will enjoy your time off at home in a 135".. Its a big BS
I get one hard day off at week. if they want they can give you the hard day off when you are out of base,
Be aware also that being on stand by and being off are 2 completely different things... when I am in stand by I must be 90 mins from the airport... so get ready to live with your phone always attached to your body, get ready to drop a family, date dinner for a pop up flight.
forget also to spend a day at the beach or somewhere where your phone doesn't work, if company miss a flight because you are not answering the phone you are F!!!!!K.
Most 135 company do not offer benefit, do not offer big opportunity to grow/upgrade (NetJets current Upgrade time is 10yrs)((NetJets is gold for the 135 company))
I just interviewed at Republic... beside the big BS i read on this forum I can tell you that everyone are nice, salary is decent, your day off are off for real, upgrade time as now is 3/4 years (Yes I know it all depends) current market situation of the company is BAD. It will recover, I am sure the new contract will show is result in the next years.. During my interview we were about 25 ppl (captain, first officer from other 121 EX: envoy, psa, piedmont, expressjet) a few 135 guy and instructors... most of them got called except 5 guys..
They interview twice at week and if you can do math you can see the number of hire is pretty good...
Class are full. I asked for an early since when I will resign my DO will kick me out within a week.. I got the earliest class.. January 26!
Go for a 135 if you can get in a decent, serious one.
Republic is a good choice if you want to plan your life and still go out to eat a pizza with your wife or girlfriend while getting 121 experience.
Be aware of hater of republic on this forum.. I am kinda new here, but it took me about 10 mins of reading different thread to understand that some people are serious, problematic hater.
