I'm currently 2 years in with another 121 carrier, no chance of upgrade for another 8-10 years, 3 more years of reserve at least, no weekends or holidays off, and making only 30 grand a year (under republics first year pay).
I realize upgrade time is still fairly high there but I'm more concerned with living in PIT since that's where I grew up and family resides, and I could possibly have a life-I'm sure reserve isn't quite as long at Republic. Do I have a good shot at it? Also how are things currently looking over there?
Currently work at Republic and you are basically guaranteed PIT out of training. Almost all new hires start at PIT(which is great for seniority, if you want to stay there).

And that's coming from a commuter!
I'll second that; ignore the haters. These folk will still be complaining and miserable even when they obtain their "dream" job.
RAH has been great to me too.

Commuter here as well and agree. First month in PIT was a little brutal but QOL improved drastically upon getting a line and switching bases....and the pay increase/new contract has been nice too.

Heard a rumor that classes have started to fill up, any truth to this? How many for a class to be full?

Yes, but Republic can not legally operate them for anyone. They'll most likely be sold or subleased to someone who can operate them. Don't let that be the carrot that leads you here.
